What types of lessons do you offer?

We offer one-on-one instruction in singing, piano, guitar and drums. We are also available to assist students interested in general music education and songwriting as well as offering some exciting group classes.

How much do lessons cost?

*30 minute lessons – $130/month

*45 minute lessons – $190/month

*60 minute lessons – $260/month

*Rhythm & Tots (30) – $95/month

A one-time $35 registration fee is charged upon sign-up. This includes your first round of books, learning materials, and special things we do for the school throughout the year! Our classes are based on a 48-week year and are based on an average of 4 lessons per month. The same amount is charged each month.

How long should I take lessons for?

We do not ask our clients to sign a contract committing themselves to a certain amount of time. We encourage our students to continue their musical journey as long as their schedule allows. You can start music lessons any time and continue for as long as you’d like!

At what age can my child start lessons with you?

For voice and piano, our individual lessons are open to children aged six and up. For guitar & drums, we recommend starting lessons start around 7. Our Rhythm & Tots class is designed for beginning students aged 3-5 years old that want to explore music. We offer a trial lesson for every instrument- if there is any question about a student’s readiness, a trial lesson is recommended and we’d love to meet you and help you decide!

Do you teach adults?

We love teaching adults! Learning an instrument has benefits at every stage of life. Whether you are just beginning to learn or coming back to learning after a hiatus! We currently have many adult students and will always encourage picking up music at any time in your life. Come in for a trial lesson, and our expert teachers will design a curriculum based on your individual needs.

What curriculum do you teach?

Our teachers are versatile and creative. Our curriculum is unique to our school and staff as we design our curriculum based on the need of each individual student.

Do you teach online?

Yes. We offer lessons both in person and online through zoom at the same rate.

To best set the lesson up for success, online students need a decent internet connection and a computer with a camera and microphone so that your teacher can see and hear you during the lesson. The use of headphones and external microphone may also be advisable as well as additional supplies to take notes during the lesson.

Does the school close at certain times during the year?

CSM is open year-round. We usually close around the Holidays and for certain national holidays. Students are informed in advance of any scheduled closure. Monthly tuition is based on a 48-week year, which averages out at four lessons per month. In shorter months, you will receive three lessons and in longer months, five.

What if I miss a lesson?

For any lessons missed by a teacher, Carefree School of Music will attempt to provide a substitute teacher or a make-up lesson. Students/parents are asked to give 24 hours’ notice in the case of a cancellation. If a student cancels less than 24 hours prior to the lesson for any reason, we may not be able to reschedule the lesson. We offer group makeup classes once a month that can be attended for any missed lessons as well.

What is the process to stop lessons?

We ask that if you need to cancel lessons for any reason that written notice is given by the 15th of your last full month of lessons.

Do you do group classes?

We have our wonderful group class for young musicians called Rhythm & Tots for ages 3-5.

We have a weekly acting class that focuses on the works of Shakespeare.

We hold group master classes on topics such as Voice, Music Theory and Performance & Songwriting. Those are scheduled based on sign up attendance throughout the year.

What exactly is Rhythm & Tots?

Rhythm & Tots is a group class for little ones aged between 3 and 5. It is a fun and upbeat introduction to musical instruments, rhythm, and reading musical notes, and features many fun activities including singing, dancing, playing all kinds of instruments, and musically-related arts and crafts. Rhythm & Tots gives young kids a solid musical foundation setting up the transition into one-on-one instrumental lessons for success.

How often do students get to perform?

Throughout the year CSM has 2 regularly scheduled recitals in Spring and Winter. We also participate in Open Mic nights in the area several times throughout the year.

Do you have a discount for family members?

It’s wonderful when clients choose to enroll one or more family members in music lessons! Although we can’t offer a monthly discount on tuition, we do offer each family member a free trial lesson and we reduce the registration fee for each additional family member that signs up.
